The CAO Pilon series turned the spotlight on the method of stacking layers of tobacco to allow the leaves to ferment, imparting them with deeper flavors. The super-stars at CAO have taken the Pilon process even further by twice aging the tobacco. The result is the CAO Pilon Anejo Toro, a must-have for CAO fans and Maduro lovers.
The CAO Pilon Anejo Toro features Seco and Ligero filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, nestled in a Honduran Habano binder and dark Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper leaf. Once these Pilon fermented tobaccos are rolled, they are set down for another two years of aging to allow the tobaccos to mature into one delicious blend.
The two years of extra aging give the beautifully crafted 6” x 52 Toro a smoother, more complex character. A richly textured earthiness coats the palate while hints of wood, caramel, and toast float freely throughout the medium-to-full-bodied experience. The finish is bold and long-lasting, with bursts of spice nudging the smoke towards a grand finish.
The CAO Pilon Anejo Toro is a dreamy Honduran-made smoke that is rich yet balanced, smooth yet adventurous, making for a most engaging cigar smoking escape. Enjoy these twice-aged cigars with aged rum or rye whisky for a deliciously savory escape.
