Olmec Claro Robusto by Foundation CIgar (5" x 50)

The Olmec series is Nick Melillo’s celebratory homage to the ancient Olmec civilization which thrived over 2500 years ago in a region of Mexico that stretched across present-day Tabasco and southern Veracruz. At the heart of Olmec country is San Andres Tuxtla, world famous as home to exquisite San Andres tobacco. The highly prized leaf highlights the 93-rated Olmec Claro Robusto, delivering a rich, lively, and endlessly pleasing smoke.

The Olmec Claro Robusto pairs a San Andres wrapper leaf with a rich blend of Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from Esteli and Jalapa. The filler leaves are bale-aged for three years following fermentation to add depth, maturity, and complexity to the experience.

Olmec Claro Robusto cigars are handmade at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua, ensuring each 5” x 50 box-pressed cigar delivers impeccable quality in construction and taste. Once underway the voluptuousness of the smoke takes over, imbuing the senses with lush flavors of coffee, milk chocolate, toffee-covered nut, toast, orange, and wood flavors. Peppery undertones are balanced by waves of sweet cream. The finish is long, rich, savory, and sweet.

The Olmec Claro Robusto is a nod to both the historical and contemporary importance of the San Andres region while celebrating the continuing legacy of the San Andres tobacco leaf. Combine an Olmec Claro Robusto with Veracruz-inspired cuisine and top-shelf aged tequila for a lavishly satisfying feast for the senses.
